What is ixigo Credit?

ixigo Credit is a new payment method that enables users to book their train tickets and Pay Later or choose an EMI option based on their eligibility. This service is powered by our NBFC partner Snapmint, allowing users more flexibility and convenience when booking their train journeys.

What are the Key Features?

  • EMI Option: Eligible users can pay for their train tickets in easy monthly installments.

  • Pay Later: Users can defer their payment to a later date, depending on the eligibility assessment by Snapmint.

  • Seamless User Experience: The payment process is integrated directly into our booking flow, making it simple for users to select ixigo Credit, check eligibility and get approved instantly at checkout.

Important points:

The eligibility for EMI and Pay Later options is determined by Snapmint based on the user’s creditworthiness.

In Phase 1, we have enabled only the checkout flow for trains (non-web). Flights and other LoBs to follow soon.

  1. What is ixigo Credit? 

ixigo Credit is a Book Now Pay Later and cardless EMI option by ixigo, in collaboration with Snapmint as the lending partner. You can now make your travel bookings without paying the full amount upfront.

With ixigo Credit, you can pay at a later date or opt for 2-3 months EMI plans, giving you greater flexibility in managing your travel expenses. (Please note: Soon we will add 6 months plan)


  1. What are the benefits of ixigo Credit? 

     ixigo Credit offers you the convenience of booking your tickets without an immediate upfront payment. Key benefits include:

  1. Is ixigo Credit applicable for apps and platforms other than ixigo?  

Yes, the credit limit provided by Snapmint is also applicable for apps and platforms other than ixigo. You can use it to make payments on other platforms that support Snapmint transactions.

  1. What is PayLater and EMI? 

         ixigo Credit PayLater enables you to book your tickets on ixigo without the need for immediate full payment. The payment can be deferred to a later date (typically for 30 days), providing you with a short-term credit option and financial flexibility[a1] .The user may be required to make a ₹1 payment for account verification. This amount will be automatically refunded, and users will have the option to pay via PayLater.

ixigo Credit EMI is a fixed payment amount that you need to make over a certain period of time. You can easily spread the cost of the travel bookings into smaller, more manageable monthly payments, with options of low-cost or no-cost EMIs over 2 to 6 months. Typically, users are asked to make an initial down payment of one-third of the total amount, with the remaining balance spread across the EMI period.

  1. How can I check the eligibility for ixigo Credit? 

         To check the eligibility for ixigo Credit, you need to follow these steps:

·       Go to the Payment section on the train checkout page

·       Click on the ixigo Credit option 

·       Confirm your mobile number and name.

·       Next, enter your PAN details.

·       Complete the Aadhaar-based eKYC, if required.

         Once your application is approved, you'll receive a credit limit for PayLater and EMI options.

  1. Do I need to submit any documents during the process? 

Since ixigo Credit’s application process is 100% online, you don’t require any physical documents. You just need to keep your PAN and Aadhaar numbers handy. As part of the process, an OTP will be sent to the Aadhaar-linked mobile/email, so make sure your contact details are up-to-date to receive the OTP.

  1. What happens if I miss a payment for ixigo Credit? 

ixigo Credit repayments need to be made by the 3rd of every month. If you miss the deadline, a late fee will apply.

  1. What if I cancel a booking made via ixigo Credit? 

If you cancel a booking made using ixigo Credit, the refund will be credited to your ixigo Credit account, powered by Snapmint, within 2 hours. Any down payments or EMIs already made will be adjusted, and the refund will be sent back to the original payment source for the down payment or EMI.

  1. What is the billing cycle for repayments? 

A monthly billing cycle is followed for ixigo Credit repayments. Hence, you need to complete your payment latest by the 3rd of every month to avoid a late fee.

  1. How can I make the repayments?

Currently, repayments for ixigo Credit can only be made on the Snapmint website or app available on both Android and iOS. Simply log in using the phone number registered for ixigo Credit to manage and complete your repayments.

  1. Can I set up automatic bill payments for ixigo Credit? 

Yes, you can set up UPI Autopay on the Snapmint app to enable automatic bill payments.

  1. Will my credit score impact my ixigo Credit application?
    Yes, your credit score is an important part of the evaluation process. A credit score evaluates your credit eligibility based on your payment history, credit utilization and other factors.

    To increase your chances of approval for ixigo Credit, we advise you to repay your loans & dues on time and maintain a high credit score.  

  1. How does ixigo Credit PayLater work?

ixigo Credit PayLater enables you to make travel bookings without immediate payment and settle the amount later    (typically after 30 days). You will receive a PayLater credit limit, once your application has been approved.

  1. How can I avail the ixigo Credit EMI option for my travel bookings?
    Here’s how you can avail the ixigo Credit EMI option on your bookings –

·       On the ixigo payment page, select ‘PayLater & Easy EMI’.

·       Click on the ‘ixigo EMI’ option.

·       Next, select an EMI plan and proceed with the payment.

  1. Is there any late fee charged in case I have missed repaying the EMI?

Yes! The EMI payments need to be made by the 3rd of every month & if you miss the deadline, you will be charged a late fee. We advise you to set up auto-debit for the EMIs to avoid missing the payment cycle.

  1. What is the eligibility criteria to apply for the ixigo Credit?

                To be eligible to apply for ixigo Credit, the applicant must:

·       Be a registered user of any of the ixigo apps.

·       Meet the age requirement: 21 to 60 years old.

·       Be an Indian resident.

  1. How can I check my ixigo Credit balance?

You can check your balance on the payment page of the train transaction.

  1. How can I increase my credit limit?
    You will receive a credit limit once your ixigo Credit application is approved. This will be an initial limit that can be increased based on your usage and timely repayments.

  2.  I have an issue related to the transaction I made using ixigo Credit. What should I do?
    For any issues related to the ixigo Credit transactions, you can connect with our Customer Service team via chat or call. We will do our best to help you out.

  3. Will the payments made via ixigo Credit affect my overall credit score?
    Yes, payments made through ixigo Credit can affect your overall credit score. Timely repayments positively impact your credit eligibility, while any missed payments may have a negative impact.

  4. I’m unable to access my credit limit. What can be the reason?

Possible reasons for this issue:

  • Credit Limit Reached: You've used up your credit limit on ixigo or with any other merchant and need to clear dues to continue using the services.

  • Pending Dues: You haven't paid outstanding bills.

  • Account Blocked: Your account might be blocked due to suspicious activity or other risks.

  1. How long does it take to get approval for ixigo Credit?
    The ixigo Credit approval process is completed in real-time and usually takes about a minute.

  1.  Is there a limit to the PayLater amount I can avail?
    There is no limit on ixigo PayLater. You can use the entire PayLater limit available on a single transaction.

  1. Can I cancel or modify my EMI plan after it has been selected?
    No, once the booking has been made using a particular EMI plan, it cannot be modified. You can only change the EMI plan before making a booking. The cancellation of an EMI booking is subject to ixigo’s policies.

  1. How can I settle my outstanding ixigo Credit balance?
    To settle your outstanding ixigo Credit balance on Snapmint: 

  • Download the app from the Google Play Store/App Store or log in at www.snapmint.com from your ixigo-registered mobile number. 

  • Go to the ‘My EMI’ section and clear the outstanding dues. 

  1. Can I delete my ixigo Credit limit?
    Please follow the steps mentioned here to delete your ixigo Credit limit. (Checking with Snapmint team for the correct link or steps)

  1.  How do I view my transaction history?
    To view your ixigo Credit transaction history on Snapmint: 

  • Download the Snapmint app from the Google Play Store/App Store or log in to your account on www.snapmint.com with your ixigo-registered phone number. 

  • Click on the ‘My EMI’ section to check the payments made using ixigo Credit or any other transactions done via Snapmint.

    Yes, you have the option to pre-close your EMI without incurring any additional charges.
